A visit from a Tawny Frogmouth
We see quite a diverse range of wildlife here at Launceston Vet Clinic. Recently, we had a young Tawny Frogmouth brought into the clinic by one of our registered wildlife carers. He had a swollen left distal wing which was likely damaged when he was learning to fly.
Our senior Veterinarian Dr Kim Barrett took x-rays of the wing which revealed a broken carpus. Hopefully with some rest and TLC from our lovely carer, the wing will heal well enough for the Tawny to be released back into the wild after rehabilitation.
