Little Lotti’s Brave Journey
Lotti has been visiting us frequently after she was diagnosed with IMHA at the start of the year.
Immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) is the condition where the body’s immune system attacks and removes its own red blood cells, thus leading to severe anaemia, an unhealthy yellow colouring of the tissues called jaundice or icterus as well as an assortment of life-threatening complications.
Lotti required a blood transfusion and close monitoring, as well as some medication to help her get better. Lotti now comes in for frequent blood tests to check her PCV and her medication regime.
We love seeing Lotti for her check-ups and are so glad she is now doing well. She is always so brave when she has her blood taken and loves coming in for her visits.
