Due to the ongoing national veterinary shortage, we regret to inform you that, as of 20th Feb 2024, we will no longer be able to offer out-of-hours services from our clinic. We’ve thoroughly explored all options to sustain this service, but in order to maintain veterinary care during regular hours from our dedicated team, you all know and love we’ve had to make this difficult decision.
Rest assured, there are still options available in case of emergency when our clinic is closed:

  1. Some local clinics still provide out-of-hours services. Contact the VetChat team on 1300 702 032 for a telemedicine appointment, where they can guide you to appropriate care based on your pet’s condition. Please note this service does attract a fee and may require referral to Tasmania’s only dedicated 24/7 emergency centre in Derwent Park, Hobart. The emergency centre can be reached on 1300 302 912.
  2. Animal Emergency Hospital Launceston is a new business offering local emergency service from Friday evenings at 5pm to 8am Monday mornings. Their team can be reached at 03 6310 8499 for advice and emergency care. This facility is located in Kings Meadows, Launceston.
  3. Our team at Launceston Veterinary Clinic can be contacted on 03 6344 4566 during regular hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
